Corners can be an effective tool and can definitely make a difference between victory and defeat, especially in close games. Particularly in those game where it seems like you can't create any scoring chances, a corner comes in handy. We show you three effective ways to make the most out of your corners.
Short-post corner
As a first variation, you can try to play a corner at the short post. Before you take the corner into the box towards the short post, use R1 to call in a player for a short corner. This will tie up an opponent player at the corner flag and will give you more space inside the box. This will also result in your player with the best header automatically running to the short post who then just has to nod the ball in and score an easy goal for you.

In the second variation, you call a player with R1. This time, you actually play the ball to your teammate next to the corner flag. With a sharp R1 pass you pass the ball to the back of the box, from where you look for the goal after 1-2 short passes and a quick turn.
Long-post corner
In the last variant, you pass the ball to your player that you called with R1. Then, run a few steps in the direction of the box. With a cross to the far post (L1 + square) you feed your player with the strongest header, who heads the ball on goal against the direction of the goalkeeper.
